Bernard Mensah aka Mormi Dondo, one of Ghana’s most promising drummer started serious drumming in the year 2008 when he found out drumming can take him to many places in the world. In an interview with www.sammyflex.com, he said “I was 10 years when I started drumming for my church but I didn’t take it serious because I thought it won’t take me anywhere in life, but when I was got 18 years, I had no option than to go all out for it because I was very good with the drums”.
He started by joining the “Amen band” which helped him project him more to the world in the year 2008 and they played a lot of shows with the biggest one being the Bands Alive, a reality show organized by TV3 in 2008 and at the end of the show they placed first with Bernard Mensah being awarded the best drummer by the judges in the first edition. He later moved to Destiny band in the year 2010. After, he decided to form his own band and called it “One Side band” which is still in existence. They played many shows including playing alongside Shatta Wale at the GN Bank awards and also stonebwoy’s album launch.
Recently his church band called “Adam Nana band” joined a reality show organized by Atinka TV dubbed the Atinka TV Gospel Reality Show with 24 bands competing for the price. Adam Nana were selected among the top 10 bands for the finals. After the show, the judges awarded Bernard Mensah again the best drummer of the overall competition for his great skills on the drums.
Benard Mensah aka Mormi Dondo was elated by the award and assured all those who supported him in diverse ways.
